With multiple demands upon the facilities of the Centre, and in order to continue to improve our booking and confirmation system, The Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors operates a strict cancellation policy.
All delegates must ensure that they have booked and received the necessary approval for study/annual leave prior to booking on a course. In the event that this approval has not been sought prior to booking, delegates will still remain subject to the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors cancellation policy.
Cancellations and Refunds
If cancellation is requested 6 weeks from the date of the course full refund will be issued. If cancellation is requested less than 4-6 weeks prior to the course, a cancellation charge of 10% will be made. If cancellation is requested less than 4 weeks prior to the course, a cancellation charge of 50% will be made. There will be no refund available on cancellations made on the week of the course, unless there are extenuating circumstances. All cancellation charges are to cover administrative costs.
If you are unable to attend due to illness or other extenuating circumstances, please let us know as soon as possible using this email address fv.scschf@nhs.scot. In these circumstances you will be offered a place on an alternative course or date. Refund requests will be considered on an individual basis.
All cancellations must be advised in writing. In the event of a delegate only attending part of the course, the Centre is unable to refund all or part of the course fee.
Request to Change Date of Course
Requests to amend course date, less than 4 weeks prior to the booked course date, will incur a £15 Administration fee.
Course Cancellation by The Simulation Centre
Whilst we do everything in our power to avoid cancelling courses, ,we reserve the right to do so should it be deemed necessary. In such cases, applicants will be informed as soon as possible and fees will be refunded in full.
Please note that the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors is not liable for any costs incurred by delegates in the event of a course being cancelled.
Expenses incurred by participants (e.g. travel bookings, accommodation deposits, etc) cannot be refunded. We suggest you obtain travel insurance/refundable flights/hotels in the unlikely event that your course is cancelled.
Accommodation
Participants should organise their own travel and accommodation.
