Description

The TIES (Training for IMG Educational Supervisors) course aims to support trainers who are supervising new International Medical Graduates (IMGs) or may be in the future.

TIES has been designed to build on the resources currently available for the educational supervisors of new IMG doctors. We use sim to explore challenging areas of supervision and support trainers in their role.

The course runs 9-5pm in the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors, Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Casual clothes welcome. We will spend the first part of the morning in discussion, before moving onto simulation scenarios which look at supporting educational supervisors in supporting their IMG. All the scenarios are communication based, and will follow the journey of a new IMG and their Educational Supervisor.

There will be tea/coffee, lunch will be provided.

We know that simulation can feel vulnerable, especially around a topic like this. Please do get in contact with us if you would like a general chat around how we approach simulation, the course material, or any other questions or concerns. We would be more than happy to talk or email about this, and have done so with previous participants.

We look forward to welcoming you to the TIES course.
