This is a full-day course, designed to address the more challenging aspects of Simulation Based Medical Education (SBME). It is aimed at simulation facilitators with an intermediate level of experience in SBME and previous attendance at the SCSChf.org Introduction to Simulation Course (or equivalent).
Building on the foundations of the SCSChf.org Introduction to Simulation Course, the day consists of interactive workshops covering aspects of Simulation in tiers 2 and 3 of the Scottish Faculty Development Outcomes Framework (https://scschf.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2017/08/National-Outcomes-Framework.pdf).
Themes on the day will include: debriefing question styles, metadebriefing, incorporating non-technical skills, overview of simulation for assessment, simulation for systems testing.
It will also provide consolidation of previous learning and experience to allow you to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of learning.
Guided by the expert faculty at SCSCHF, you will leave with a deeper understanding and ability that will allow you to improve the quality of SBME and get the most out of this valuable resource.
