Description

This two day course is designed to give you the essential foundations on which to build simulation based learning events for your scenario or course participants. The course is aimed at all individuals with an interest in delivering Simulation Based Medical Education (SBME), without restriction on background, health care field, or experience. We have had excellent feedback from participants both completely new to SBME and those with considerable experience in the field.

Day one consists of highly interactive sessions and workshops focused on showing you the fundamental aspects of scenario design and running, that will make debriefing less challenging, and ultimately lead to more effective learning events.   In the afternoon of day one you will be provided with a reliable structure for debriefing and we will help you to explore some key aspects to the art of debriefing. We will also give you a chance to consider the incorporation of CRM principles within your learning events.

The second day is all about you; you will spend the day running, debriefing and participating in clinical scenarios, with the added unique opportunity to remotely watch and critique each others’ debriefing, otherwise known as “Metadebriefing”.

Guided by the expert faculty at SCSCHF, you will leave with an increased awareness and raised development of the essential skills needed to help your learners get the most out of SBME.
