This course is intended to help CT1/ACCS1 trainees prepare for on call duties in anaesthesia. Participants should have had some experience in providing anaesthesia before attending the course to get maximum benefit. One of our most popular courses, it offers experience of scenarios involving the classic ‘skills and drills’ which should underpin safe anaesthetic practice. This course covers the requirement for “Critical incident training” required in year 1 of Stage 1 of the new curriculum. Participants would benefit from carrying out the Anaesthesia Critical Incident Drills (ACID) in their own department before attending the course, although it is not essential.
