Registrar Ready course – training for the transition into Higher Specialty Training and being a new leader in the ED.
New registrar? Newly on a middle grade rota in ED? Wanting to improve your management skills? About to start a night shift as the doctor in charge?
This will cover areas of critical thinking and decision making, dealing with difficult patients, managing conflict within the ED. There will be individual simulation cases, and there will be ample time to reflect and debrief the decision making process involved in managing an Emergency Department.
This course is aimed at ST3/ST4 doctors in Emergency Medicine, or those working on similar levels rotas – or those about to enter these posts. This course is being aimed to run in January and July of each year and is linked to the RCEM 2021 curriculum.
