Medi-StuNTS is a behavioural marker system to guide the observation and assessment of medical students’ non-technical skills. This online course is aimed at anyone involved, or hoping to be involved, in medical student simulation.
The course will introduce the concepts of non-technical skills and behavioural marker systems, before familiarising participants with the specific content of Medi-StuNTS. Participants will then have the opportunity to gain experience using the marker system, using high fidelity simulated scenarios as worked examples. The exciting potential of Medi-StuNTS as a framework for the provision of individualised, meaningful feedback will be explored.
This course runs in a modular fashion, comprising video tutorials, video clips of simulation scenarios, and interactive discussion boards. It can be completed at a time of convenience to the participant, and participants will be given unlimited access to the learning material if they wish to return to it at a later point. The modules can be completed in approximately 2 – 4 hours.
This course is free of charge, and is open to anyone involved in medical student education. It is likely to be of particular value to CDF’s, CTF’S and clinical skills facilitators.
