The SCSCHF was founded in 1998 by the four Scottish Professors of Anaesthesia, and since its inception the SCSCHF has been at the fore-front of simulation-based Anaesthesia training. We offer a range of general and specialty specific courses from the entry-level right up to consultants/SAS. We also run courses for anaesthetic assistants. We have some free to use resources to be delivered in your own place of work (ACID and STAN). The drills within the ACID package have formed the basis of part of the AAGBI Quick Reference Handbook.
Level 1 resources are for novices and free to access, delivered by your own anaesthetic department. Level 2 and 3 courses are designed for training grades. Level 4 courses are suitable for senior trainees, SAS and Consultants. Level 5 courses are for Consultant and SAS staff only.
