Al has been involved with simulation since 2009. Currently, his main interest and focus of work lies in simulation faculty development and “train the trainers” type courses. In the past he has designed and implemented a self contained lo-fidelity simulation based learning package for novice anaesthetists which is in use in many sites across the UK, Canada and USA. He has also worked with the Royal College of Anaesthetists on a one-day “Simulation Unplugged” introduction to simulation course for anaesthetists in the UK. He has considerable experience in delivering simulation focused on non-technical skills. He has completed, presented and published several pieces of work regarding Simulation for anaesthesia, Anaesthetists Non-Technical Skills and Simulation faculty development.
